石垣牛の復讐
ということで、石垣牛を食べにはるばる石垣島までやってきました。
お店は焼肉屋の「やまもと」石垣島で一二を争う有名店です。
夕方の5時に電話予約をしたところ、「今から」か「8時30分から」のどちらかを選べといわれました。
まだ観光をしたかったので「8時30分」を選んで、予約の時間まで鍾乳洞に行ったりして時間通りに入店しました。
お店はなぜか阪神タイガースグッズでいっぱい。店内のテレビでは阪神巨人戦を放送中でした。
とりあえず、「上ロース」「上カルビ」「上バラ」を注文すると、「上肉はすべて売り切れました」との無情な声。
しかたないので、「ロース」「カルビ」「バラ」を注文しましたが、出てきた肉を軽く炙り、口に入れた途端に今まで食べてきた肉は一体なんだったんだという衝撃を受けました。
上ではなく並の肉でこの味ならば、上肉は一体どんな味なのか。予約をしたときに「今から」と言わなかったことがつくづく悔やまれます。
次は絶対に開店時に予約を入れて上肉を食べる！
